Stage 1 - Research

Baseline research to determine areas with historically low and high youth participation in democratic processes.
The study would be helpful for mapping purposes and to better target our interventions to the right demographics.

Organization

Enugu Literary Society (ELS) uses public enlightenment campaigns and literary vehicles such as drama, chorales, poetry, spoken word, and musical concerts, to mobilize communities, especially youths, to build a civil, literate, equitable and democratic citizenry that actively participates in the civic and democratic process of nation building.

Project Summary

ELS will use research, trainings, social media influencers, choral competition, and musical concerts to motivate Enugu youths to participate in the democratic process, especially the 2023 general elections.

Long Term Goal
At least 50% increase in Enugu youth participation in the democratic process, especially the 2023 general elections.

Medium Term Outcomes

  1. 25% increase in youth participation in Enugu in the current (2022) pre-election democratic processes.
  2. 25% increase in youths joining democratic contests.
